Outside Looking In the Asbury Park Casino

The early morning sun rises through the ocean's mist as the rolling waves pound upon the shore with a rhythmic tune.  The Casino still stands tall surrounded by stainless chain links to keep inquisitive eyes out.

There is no hope for this massive structure to survive no matter how much we try.  The visual of her being demolished says goodbye to the once great past we had.  Memories is all that we have left of the Asbury Park Casino and a larger beach to lay our blankets down where she once stood.

I'm on the outside looking in, but now there's nothing left to look into...  I will miss her!

Bunny of Easter Past

A Bunny clings onto a Fan Switch collecting dust.

How it got there and who placed it is a good question...
A question only Peter Cottontail himself might answer.

Here sits Peter Cottontail
Looking dusty, looking Pale
Hippity, Hoppin', Easter's come and Gone
Oh, ain't it Funny
This little Dust Bunny

Featured on TV_ChurchandGraves

What a nice surprise to find that tv_churchandgraves featured this beautiful Angel on their Hug on IG.  It's such an honor to be included with some fine Photographers who share the same interests.

If you haven't already visited their site, "Shame on you!"  Take a moment or two and see some beautiful architecture of churches and amazing statues that you might come across on during a stroll through a cemetery!

Have Fun!

Sunlight's Distant Stare

Last Night's pipe smoke still fills the Air
Through the morning Sunlight's vacant Stare
A Deck of Cards scattered on the Floor
Fifth of Bourbon with not one sip More

That's how it was a few years Ago
With Frank, Sal, Tony and his friend Joe
Good times were had, but now they are Gone
No one has stayed, not even Big John

They've all gone away down different Roads
Through forces of many luckless Bodes
Never to see each other no More
To share a Smoke, a shot of Liquore

They've taken a Bus from here to There
The places they've gone, no one knows Where
All was left behind in the stale Air
Even the Sunlight's ever so distant Stare

Let the Angels Rest

She sat facing Earth's closest Star and felt the warmth basking upon her face and wings. Her eyes shut for just a few minutes in solitude as she embraces herself with what lies ahead.  What lies ahead is uncertain, however she knows that she will be there to do her part and ease the pain.

Now please, she is feeling sleep upon her and we mustn't wake her.

Let the Angels Rest

An old Portfolio Piece of Art

It's always nice to discover things that haven't been seen in years.  This piece of art I created was hiding away in a portfolio in my attic.  Yes, far long before Digital Photography and Adobe Photoshop.

Back in the 70's and 80's we had apparatuses such as Stat Machines, Burning Plates and the Lucy Machine which enlarged images to draw from.  We had no layers to play with and create effects as we today do in Photoshop.  What we had was a Wax Machine for Pasting up Mechanicals and a large gallon can of Rubber Cement. Typesetting and getting the Kerning just right...  No room for error and no chance to edit after.  Just utilizing your hands and creating as to what medium you desired to work with.

Oh, those were the days!

Road to Nowhere

On a road that leads nowhere to a destination of that one might think just to turn around and return the way they came.  Disappearing without a thought and with no intentions of returning.

I have yet to venture down this road that leads to nowhere, yet it looks like a place I'd love to visit.  A good friend sent this via Text Messaging knowing I'm one of the few that would go out of my way to see.

The question is...  To find that road leading nowhere can be a task only a few can bear.

Cabin in the Forest

If you're wandering through the forest and come across a small cabin made of stone, remember this...  Those who enter, never exit sane.

The legend goes as follows...  A small cabin sits deep in the forest unoccupied after the death of an elderly woman who died in bed of natural causes decades ago.  She was one who never liked company. nor ventured out in the public.  In fact, she was not one to like the Human Race, thus being the reason she kept to herself.  People to her were a threat as the media exploited all the negativity of wrong doers spreading propaganda all over the news and papers.

The tale tells that she cut herself off to World becoming a complete Recluse. As she became an Eremite, reading the Bible, and through the years she couldn't even cope with what was said in the Good Book.  All ties were broken with nothing but herself and the wildlife around her.

Today if you're chatting among friends at the local Pub, you just might hear the story of how her deceased body is still lying in bed as she was the night she turned in.  What happens when someone brave enough enters the one and only door of the cabin is uncertain, but one thing is for sure.  They never leave with a sound mind becoming terminally mad to the rest of their days never saying a word.

Grasshoppers

Hoppers in the Grass
Hoping Blade to Twig
Hoppers in the Grass
Hopping to the Jig

To the Jig of Spring
Moshing in the Air
To the Jig of Spring
Without any Care

The Sun's shining Bright
Without any Strife
The Sun's shining Bright
Emerging new Life

Hoppers in the Grass
Hoping from Twig to Blade
Hoppers in the Grass
What fun they have Played

Pleasing the People

You can Please
Some of the People
Some of the Time

But you can't Please
All the People
All the Time

Then there are People
You'll never Please
Any of the Time

Those are the People
I choose not to deal With
All of the Time

1981 Buick Electra Hearse

She lay there listless, exhausted and fatigued from catering to the ones who have done nothing to help her get to their final destinations.  It's over and her work is done with only the honor of knowing all are grateful through only prayer without a single word spoken.

This is what she humbly did countless times in all conditions without hesitation.  Now it's her time to rest and be catered to as she did to those in need.  A new generation will be born and as time repeats itself time and time again, they too will wither away into dust.

Birds of a Feather are Gone Forever

Wherever you go, you might just find something that was abandoned right in your own back yard.  Here we have a house...  Not the typical house that you might see on an Urban Exploration Website, but a house that was once lived in by a family through many generations.

But once each generation were old enough to be on their own, the Parents who became Grandparents and then Great Grandparents soon passed on leaving their cozy beds empty.  Now what's left is the swinging remnants of a house that once was a home with no sign of life ever to enter again.

Paramount Theatre ~ Asbury Park, New Jersey

Embellishments from the Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park, New Jersey.  These ornamental toppers mount on the upper most part of the Theater and look the size of a spool of thread.  But when down on the ground they are quit mammoth in size and heavy.

When taking this photograph, the exterior was in restoration phase which was giving the building new life.  Though the new life it was given, the Paramount Theatre never once stopped operating.

John is Able

John's little Fable
To build a Table
That's so Stable
Within the Stable
Under the Gable
Without a Cable
Nor a Stabile
Etched with a Label

John is Able
To build that Table
That's so Stable
Within the Stable
Under the Gable
Nor a Stabile
Etched with a Label
That's John's Fable

Wells Fargo & Company

Wells Fargo's incredibly strong Concord stagecoaches were crafted with the state of the art materials by the Abbot-Downing Company of Concord, New Hampshire.  These Coach Makers were regarded with the highest expectations and reputation.  Wells Fargo stagecoaches provided in the nineteenth century, speedy service across a vast territory.  The aka: Butterfield Overland route stretched all the way to the Pacific starting in 1858.

Wells Fargo operated the Major Overland stagecoach route west of the Missouri River, covering over 2,500 miles of territory from California to Nebraska and Arizona to Idaho.  Nothing other than skilled Drivers guided these coaches pulled by a team of four to six horses, at an average speed of five miles per hour.  Stops were made on the average of every twelve miles to change horses, and about every forty-five miles or so to allow the Driver and Passengers to relax and have a bite to eat.

Profanity Houses of the Rutherfurd Stuyvesant Estate

Mother Nature has been on my side and I was able to take advantage of her on my time off.

I ventured to the once Rutherfurd Stuyvesant's Estate in Allamuchy, New Jersey which the mansion is long gone due to a fire, but many other structures still remain in not so fair condition.  Most know these house as "The Profanity Houses" for an angry person wrote profanities on every conceivable inch of space directed to those who done him wrong.  I usually don't launch where I just visited on my website right away.  However, this I couldn't wait to share with you and pretty much devoted the entire update to it.  Six galleries with a virtual tour of each structure, entering every room.  I must warn you, if you're offended by vulgar, explicit language, then this isn't for you.

Enjoy the updates!
