Happy St. Patrick's Day

Riddle Me This

If you are Catholic, not to eat meat on Friday during Lent is abstinence.  Whether on Ash Wednesday and the Fridays of the Lenten season.  This was practiced to be an act of penitence, in remembrance of the Friday on which Christ was crucified.

Now, but just this once...  If you are Catholic, it is OK to eat meat (Corned Beef) on St. Patrick's Day.  It's true!  Bishop Matano as well as other Bishops have given their blessings for Catholics to eat meat on St. Patrick's Day which falls on Friday.  In return, you could simply sacrifice the craving of red meat another day.  My day was yesterday, so now I can enjoy the hearty meal of Corned Beef, Cabbage, Mashed Potatoes and homemade Irish Soda Bread without having the guilt of sinning.

So, go ahead and eat heavy my Friends and a Happy St. Patrick's Day to you!
